Holy Resurrection Cathedral: Statement on the Coronavirus Public Health Emergency

On Friday, March 20th, the Governor of the State of Illinois issued an Executive Order in Response to Covid-19 (Covid-19 Executive Order No.8), ordering all residents to “stay at home” from Saturday, March 21st, through Tuesday, April 7th in an effort to contain the transmission of COVID-19 in our communities. We ask our faithful to comply with the Executive Order in the most earnest desire to do our part to protect the health and well-being of our parishioners.

We will celebrate all Divine services (Divine Liturgies, Pre-sanctified Liturgies, and Vespers), but services will be limited to clergy and cantors. On Sundays we will serve only ONE Divine Liturgy starting at 9:30 am and we will attempt to livestream the service on our YouTube channel and Facebook page and encourage everyone to prayerfully participate from their homes.

In case of an emergency or if you wish to receive Holy Communion at home, please do not hesitate to contact our clergy who in this time of sheltering remain concerned for your physical and spiritual well-being.
